Contractor panel statuses
What Pending, Approved, Preferred, and Suspended mean and how status affects work order assignment.
Before you start
- check_circle
You have Manager or Admin role in StrataBuddy.
Understand the four statuses
Pending — newly added, not yet vetted. Cannot be assigned to a work order. Approved — vetted and available for work order assignment. Preferred — Approved plus flagged as the committee's first choice for a trade type. Suspended — temporarily removed from assignment; records and history are preserved.
Approve a pending contractor
Open Maintenance → Contractors, select the contractor, and click Approve. You can optionally set Preferred at the same time.
Suspend when needed
If a contractor has a performance issue, click Suspend and add a note. Suspended contractors are hidden from the work order assignment picker but remain visible in the panel with their full history.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have more than one Preferred contractor per trade?expand_more
Yes — Preferred is a flag, not an exclusive slot. You can mark multiple contractors as Preferred for the same trade type. StrataOwn lists them first in the assignment picker.
Does suspending a contractor affect open work orders?expand_more
Open work orders already assigned to the contractor are not automatically reassigned. StrataOwn flags them with a warning so you can manually reassign if necessary.
